Information you give us

When you request a consultation, we ask for:

• Your first and last name, phone number and email address
• Your project address, city, state and ZIP code
• The type of project you have in mind, your expected project investment and your desired completion date
• Anything else you choose to tell us about your project
• Your agreement to be contacted by 1874 Design Studio about your project and to receive marketing communications, which is part of submitting a consultation request. You can withdraw it at any time (see "Your choices" below).
• If you use the contact form on this page or on our Terms of Use page, we receive your name, email address and message, and we use them only to respond to you.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically:

• Visit source information. The Site stores a first-party cookie named lead_attribution for up to 90 days. It records advertising click identifiers (such as Google and Meta click IDs), campaign tags in the page address (UTM parameters), the date of your first visit, the site that referred you and the first page you landed on. If you request a consultation, this information is sent with your request so we can tell which of our marketing brought you to us.
• Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We use tools from Meta Platforms, Inc. that record page views, taps on our phone number and completed consultation requests. These tools use Meta cookies and may collect your IP address and browser information. When you submit a consultation request or tap our phone number, our server also sends Meta the page you were on, your IP address, your browser information and Meta's cookie identifiers. For a consultation request, it also sends your email address, phone number, name, city, state and ZIP code in hashed form, which means they are scrambled so the original details can't be read. We use this to measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
• Google reCAPTCHA. Pages with our consultation or contact forms load Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Request records. When you submit a consultation request, we record your IP address, the date and time, and a spam-check score as a record of your request and your consent to be contacted.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, which helps keep the Site secure and working.

How we use information

• To respond to your consultation request and contact you about your project
• To plan, schedule and manage design and remodeling work you engage us for
• To send you marketing communications, until you ask us to stop
• To understand which of our advertising and marketing brings people to the Site, and to improve it
• To protect the Site, our customers and our business against spam, fraud and misuse
• To comply with legal obligations

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

• With Knapp Supply Co., Inc., of which 1874 Design Studio is a division.
• With service providers that help us run our business and the Site, including our customer management software (Jobber), our email provider, our website host (Vercel), Meta Platforms, Inc. for advertising measurement and Google for spam protection. These providers handle information according to their own privacy policies.
• With trade partners and suppliers when needed to carry out a project you engage us for.
• When required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of 1874 Design Studio, our customers or others.
• As part of a merger, sale or transfer of all or part of our business.

Your choices

• Marketing communications. You can ask us to stop sending marketing communications at any time by replying to one of them or contacting us using the details below. We may still contact you about a project or request you have with us.
• Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the Site may not work as intended.
• Advertising on Facebook and Instagram. You can manage how Meta uses information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
• Access, correction and deletion. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it by contacting us. We will respond as required by applicable law.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common standard for responding to these signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, including to complete and support projects, keep business records and meet legal requirements.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites

The Site links to other websites and services, such as Facebook, Instagram and our virtual showroom tour. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Changes take effect when they are posted here.
